Choosing A Better Life: Mind, Body, & Soul

Seminars and Workshops that promote awareness and allows cultural residents, women, children and health care professionals to access knowledge of wellness and distribute services to hard to reach communities;

• Solicit city, state and national health related vendors that will assist the LFMF in researching and supplying holistic care for women and children in poor and underserved communities;
• Engage community, civic and faith based leadership to increase research and intervention into social issues concerning the effects of ill health in crime, incarceration, child and spousal abuse;
• Discover key drivers of healthy lifestyles by conducting in-person intercept surveys suggested by participants of the conference as to where the information is most needed in the high disparity zip codes identified in both states,
• Create access to wellness health care services by instituting community holistic care satellites throughout hospitals, clinics, churches and schools;
• Serve as a convener, conducting on-going networking meetings designed to spur providers to identifying methods for increasing wellness practices, education and service delivery for urban core women and children;

Blueprint: Urban Wellness Institute

The Urban Wellness Institute will be a ”green” building which will utilize the latest in solar, water conservation, cleaning products and more. The institute will be a place for eastern and western medicine philosophies to gather and research the health and wealth of the urban dweller of all races, particularly those people with high disparities in health and the uninsured. It will also include a colonic center, health spa, research center, exercise as therapy center, serve as a place to study of holistic medicine, contain a shopping center for eclectic stores, “green clothiers”, natural products, fresh water location, birthing center, equipped with an international conference center with state of the art technology for communications, TV, radio and video conferencing, greenhouse and seed bank.

This is an economic development project with many arms and legs that can be instituted in programming. This project is projected to begin programming summer 2012.
