About Us

The Lady of Freedom Monument Foundation (LFMF) was founded in 2002. Since then, the organization has assisted in economic development projects in the urban cores of the United States by strengthening tourism through preservation of ethnic/cultural historic sites (the Underground Railroad in America’s history); collaborating with diverse women to form strong alliances in the arts, create the newest in employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for women and addressing a myriad of perceived barriers to conquer racism, poverty and ignorance. The Lady of Freedom Monument Foundation was created to “erect” living “monuments” through better health, wealth, economic stability and greater appreciation for the arts and culture in this country. We believe that “As the Women Prosper, So Shall the Country.” Regardless of economic status, women have the innate responsibility to seek higher ground for their communities and children.

Our Mission

It is the mission of the Lady of Freedom Monument Foundation to provide advocacy and health promotions by collaborating with residents, businesses, community leaders, educators, developers, and government in effort to eliminate health disparities in underserved communities. By working in a collaborative effort this initiative will create healthier communities by increasing economic development and cleaner environments to support oneness with the earth, healing of the ages and holistic approaches for the human experience.

Urban Wellness Project

The Lady of Freedom Monument Foundation is requesting grants to strengthen our capacity to serve our communties by funding our anticipated two year planning, development and implementation of a unique community model health, arts/economic and employment development program. This awarness programming will eventually set the stage to manifest the Urban Wellness Campus in Kansas City.
